We found the staff disorganized and overwhelmed. The hallway light was off as we got to our room around midnight and we needed to use our own sources of light. The continental breakfast was a nice touch but not immediately stocked. The bedframe was broken and the water temperature was inconsistent. Will look elsewhere next time.
This is an old unkept hotel that needs much work. Things dont work. Smells musty. Toilet sticks. Lots of ants. Very warm room at night and with the window open you smell the mill all night. This was defineately not as portrayed in the advertising.
Worst old saggy mattress EVER...and that was the deluxe ocean view suite!
Stayed there for one night before heading off for the sunshine coast trail adventure. I enjoyed a lot of the heritage decor and atmosphere. Yes, the rooms and amenities were outdated, however it adds to the overall atmosphere; also, that being said, the price was great for what you get. I wish, though, there was a larger variety for their continental breakfast meals.
You get the rooms for the price you paid. We were just passing through so we chose to stay here for a $63 room. The room is decent enough with everything you will need. Bed is not perfect but is comfortable enough to have a good rest. The pub downstairs has very loud music till past midnight, and you can hear it in some rooms. The breakfast is continental style. The building has more than 100 years history so it feels very historic.
