Has good potential but needs renovations.
This place was ok. It's old, and outdated. I had a great view though. It was just a place to sleep, and good enough for that. I spent all my time at the beach 5 mins away.
The food was good. Was clean inside. Good service.
You get what you pay for. It's that simple.Positives:- The owners allowed us to check in early so our toddler could nap.- The king bed was fairly comfortable.- The TV was high def.Negatives:- The owners barely speak English. I actually had to say "I don't speak Chinese" about 7 times and ask to speak to someone else the same amount of times.- The bathroom door couldn't even lock/close properly, as it had a huge chunk taken out of the frame.- The room was very dated and smelly when the windows were closed.- The windows were single pane, which meant the traffic was quite loud, even with the windows shut.- The bathtub had a huge spider web in the top corner, clearly not having been cleaned. - The towels were atrociously small. Our toddler fit them. They were basically hand towels.- There was no elevator, so constantly back and forth up and down a large flight of stairs with a toddler, was the pits.- Despite having a nice TV, there are almost no channels available.
Older hotel that is located close to everything in Powell River. Right next to the Comox ferry and a 25 minute drive to the Saltery Bay ferry. Lots of excellent restaurants close by and a 15 minute walk to Willingdon Beach. Rooms are on the smaller side but they were clean and comfortable. Excellent Value.
